Discovering My Potential
Have you ever considered whether there’s more to life than what you initially aspired to achieve? At the age of five, I found myself grappling with intense social anxiety, specifically known as selective mutism. I could only communicate with people I felt safe around, while I would simply remain silent and gaze at others. This often led to misunderstandings and missed opportunities, hindering my ability to realize my full potential. I somehow navigated my way through school, but when I entered the real world, the challenges intensified, especially after I became a mother.
As you may be aware, we humans flourish in social connections and a sense of belonging; however, what do you do when you genuinely want to engage, yet your body locks up and prevents you from speaking? I used to wonder about this, but I eventually understood that it was my nervous system attempting to protect me. After delving deeply into the reasons behind my feelings of difference and isolation, I experienced a revelation about what drives some individuals to pursue success and attain a fulfilling life.
My quest for understanding drove me to explore numerous books on philosophy, spirituality, religion, neuroscience, and the law of attraction, and I also enrolled in various courses. These all led me to the realization that by shifting your mindset toward growth, you engage in activities that align with your desired self, ultimately transforming into that person. What an enlightening moment that was! However, while this philosophical concept was inspiring, a more significant question arose: How do I make it happen?
Since I can remember, I've always been drawn to the metaphysical world and how energy works. It gave me hope that there's more to life than meets the eye. When I discovered hypnotherapy, I didn't need much research because I intuitively understood its power. Working with the subconscious mind can release limiting beliefs and help the nervous system feel safe during times of change. My first session was so transformative that it felt like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. It made me realize that I've been self-hypnotizing all my life—but not in the most powerful way. You see we become suggestable to the environment, to conditions placed on us, etc. As I continue this work, I feel safer expressing myself and pursuing my life's purpose.
